108 Cards from one pack of Designer paper?

I learned something new this weekend at my Stampin’ Up Groups Spring Event and I had to share it with you!  The simplest layout that can create so many cute cards, and first I’ll show you the instructions and templates, then I’ll show you the cards you can make with it.

“Jodee’s Signature Layout”

With 1 package of Designer Paper you can create up to 108 cards

Using this simple format…

  • Cut cardstock for 4 1/4″ Square cards (cut 8 1/2 x 4 1/4) = 2 cards (per sheet)
  • Cut 4×4 squares from designer paper (12×12) = 9 squares (per sheet)
  • Use 2 1/2″ Squares (from cardstock template) to create the background
  • Cut an additional 2 1/4″ Square to create your canvas
  • Accent with elements and you are on your way!
Cardstock Template - 2 cards and 3 backgrounds

Cardstock Template - 2 cards and 3 backgrounds

Here are the cards you could make with this simple layout… as you can see you’d need 1 or 2 colors of cardstock to coordinate with your designer paper. Then just Stamp, embellish as you want to and you’re done! They’re square cards that fit in standard greeting card envelopes (the square ones cost more in postage anyway!) Enjoy!! I’m excited to use this layout!  Click on the images to see a bigger version, and hit the back button on your browser to come back to this page 🙂

Basket made with Sweet Always Designer paper and the Level 2 Hostess set A Little Somethin'

We made this cute basket so easily!  Take a 6×6 sheet of paper, score it at 2″ and 4″ and then turn the paper 90 degrees and score again at 2″ and 4″ (you should have tic-tac-toe type score marks) then just cut down the top and bottom two score marks and fold!  I’m attaching a template so you know what I mean!  Click here to download the template.

The template attached is for an 8 1/4 x 8 1/4″ sheet, but there’s an illustration on how to cut and fold on there also.

We made this great bookmark with Vanilla Hodgepodge Hardware in the Label Frame and the Great Ribbon offered by Sale-a-bration (the wide ribbon) and the Botanical Blooms set also offered in the Sale-a-bration brochure!  The technique we did was 2-step stampin, which was easily acheived with Regal Rose and Rose Red inks.  Check out my techniques link at the top for more info on how to do 2-step stampin!
