You are Loved – Thank you!

jan01Sometimes designer series paper and stamp sets match eachother so nicely, that you can’t help but use them together.  Ever since I got the Comfort Cafe designer series paper, I have been wanting to use it with the You are Loved stamp set since they complement eachother perfectly!  I saw this idea on Linda Arhus’ blog (she has great ideas!) and had to make one myself.

I definitely need to invest in some new cutting pads for my big shot as they are warped in such a way that my dot embossing didn’t come out too great, but you get the idea…  I also had to use contraband (sorta) product to get the circle layering to work.  I used Sizzix circle framelits.  Which we sell, just not in the circle shape… hopefully eventually we will!

Papillon Trio

As promised, I’m working on keeping up with my blog a bit better, at least for a few weeks… when my baby is born, all promises are out the window 😉 though I hope to still have lots of stamping going on.

papcard  Here’s a card that was inspired by a project in the demonstrator-only magazine “Stampin’ Success.”  When the Spring catalog came out I was really excited to step up this card with the smaller butterfly punch image.  I love that we have a punch for both butterflies in the Papillon Potpourri set now.  Love that set, I’d say its my favorite that we have.  I also finally got to use my paper piercing templates that coordinate with lots of our framelits and punches.  There are 3 available now, and I’m sure that as our punches and framelits collection grows, we’ll have more piercing templates to complement them.

You’re Amazing Make & Takes from Convention, part 1

I have to say, this card is super fun and pretty!  It was one of 2 make and takes at convention on day 2, and it was the easier of the two so I finished most of it at convention and put finishing touches on at home.  I love the new piercing templates!  They work so perfectly with the framelits and punches!

Scallop envelope pouch – for my convention roomie!

I found a beautiful pouch on pinterest that was made from the Scallop Envelope die and just had to know how to make it! Kristine from www.creativestamping.co.nz who made the original pouch, was kind enough to send me the instructions!

How To:

  1. Cut card stock at 10″ x 4-7/8″
  2. Score it at 4″ and 6-1/4″
  3. Fold the card stock on the scored lines so when you look from the side it is a ‘Z’.
  4. Put this on your die so that the two folds sit inside the score lines of the die.
  5. Die-cut, then open out.
  6. You will need two of these (one front and one back).
  7. Once you have put your pocket together, make a belly band to cover up the score lines.

Quilt Favor Boxes

I made these cute favor boxes and cards for some of my good friends as a special treat since we were having a slumber party 🙂 I haven’t been to one of those in ages! I thought the quilt was a good theme for that. I completely forgot to fill the boxes with candy as originally planned though, so I guess it was a diet treat? 😀

Stamps: Its your day, Sprinkled Expressions

Paper: Poppy Parade, retired DSP

Ink: Chocolate Chip

Accessories: Big Shot, Fancy Favor die, retired chocolate chip poly twill ribbon, retired epoxy brads, postage stamp punch, square lattice embossing folder.

Fresh Vintage Bitty Box & Envelope

This was my first experiment for my fresh vintage box project.  I like the look of it, but it was just a bit too tiny 🙂  The envelope will fit a 2×2 card and the envelope fits inside the box.  It really is “bitty”!  It would make a cute valentine since a Ghirardelli square would probably fit nicely inside…

Stamps: Fresh Vintage, Teeny Tiny Wishes

Paper: Whisper White, Pear Pizzazz

Ink: Rich Razzleberry, Pear Pizzazz

Accessories: Big Shot, Bitty Box Bigz XL die, Postage punch

Fresh Vintage Love Note Box

I had a few experiments with boxes for my project at this month’s stamp camp, and this is the one I think I’ve settled on. I got the idea from a project we did at my demonstrator group’s meeting last year. It is a box created with the Bigz XL Box #2 die. Fold the small flaps in and leave the top flap unfolded and open. It fits and displays love notes that coordinate with the box.
Stamps: Fresh Fintage (SAB) and Teeny Tiny Wishes

Paper: Very Vanilla, Pear Pizzazz

Ink: Rich Razzleberry, Pear Pizzazz

Accessories: Big Shot, Box # 2 Bigz XL die, 1-1/4″ square punch, postage punch, wide oval punch, stamp-a-ma-jig, oval designer frames embossing folder.

Outlined Occasions Celebrate!

Celebrate Sale-a-bration!  This FREE stamp set is so cute!  I made this semi-patriotic card that could be used for so many occasions, but my aim was a masculine birthday.

Stamps: Outlined Occasions

Paper: Crumb Cake, Whisper White, Well Worn DSP

Ink: Ridinghood Red, Basic Black, Not Quite Navy

Accessories: Label framelits, Real Red Striped Grosgrain Ribbon, Big Shot

Elementary Elegance movers & shapers card

In my big shot class last month, I thought it would be a good matchup to use the Elementary Elegance Sale-a-bration set (one of my favorites this year) and the movers and shapers die that comes with the curly label shape.  Because I have this set in clearmount it was easy to line up the stamp with the window.  And we used the curly label punch for the greeting, a perfect fit.  I also really liked the doily cut-out butterfly in the Occasions mini, so I did my own spin on it to match up with this card.  Love the color combination.

Stamps: Elementary Elegance

Paper: Marina Mist, Whisper White, Cheerful Treat DSP

Ink; Crushed concord, Melon Mambo

Accessories: Delicate Doily Sizzlit, Subtles Designer Buttons, glue dots, Movers & Shapers die, big shot, Curly Label punch

Milk Carton Birdhouse

We’ll be making these cute little milk carton birdhouses at my next stamp camp on St. Patty’s day.  If you’re in the Sno-King county area, I’d love for you to come!

There are many tutorials out there, here’s the one I most closely used by Chic’nScratch.
